One morning in 2014 in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, cannabis enthusiast Sourab Agarwal had an epiphany of sorts. The ‘Year of Pot’, as 2014, was described in the media, had started and the country that launched the war on drugs, the United States, was seeing a palpable change of heart.

Since the affairs of the world are inextricably linked to what happens in the US, the whole legalisation revolution there was making headlines across the world. People were beginning to realise the ignorance that went into making one of the most important plants that God had created – the Cannabis plant – illegal. It had been conveniently clubbed along with drugs that kill without any evidence of the danger that marijuana posed. People had seen through the propaganda and now wanted freedom from it.
